About the Author & Illustrator
Chiffon Lark is a Southern California-based artist and storyteller of White Mountain Apache,
Mescalero Apache, and Mexican heritage. Specializing in alcohol inks—a fluid, intuitive medium—she merges precise brushwork with the natural movement of breath-blown pigment on Yupo paper.
Entirely self-taught, Chiffon draws inspiration from the rhythms of Earth and the sacred connection between all living beings. Her work often centers on wildlife, reflecting her belief in the spiritual relationships shared as living beings of the natural world.
This book marks her debut as both author and illustrator, blending visual art with poetic prayer to offer children (and their grownups) a moment of stillness, wonder, and belonging.
